The new CD is here!

Look! An actual CD in my actual hand!

I am so excited for you to hear all the music Dave Spencer and I spent so much of the past year working on. You can hear six of the songs in their entirety on the Miss Lynn MySpace page. After you have a listen, click on the "Add to Cart" button over on the left to buy a copy (or two, or three . . . )

Thanks for reading and happy listening!

"Flabbergasted" is a very good word

My dear friend Melissa is a very talented baker. What a delightful surprise to receive a birthday box from her and her husband containing custom-made Miss Lynn cookies! They're almost too beautiful to eat! Almost.

Thanks MM and GV! :)

More potential cover art

I broke out the crayons again this evening . . . here are some more colored-in pages that may be part of the album art. Like one enough that you think it should be on the cover? Your input is VERY welcome! Please e-mail your suggestions to misslynnsings [AT] gmail [DOT] com.

I love crayons

Karen and I broke out the crayons on Sunday night and got to work with some of those Miss Lynn coloring pages! Below are the fruit of our labors.

When you have your own go at them (click HERE to go print them out!), don't forget to send me pictures (or scans) to misslynnsings [AT] gmail [DOT] com, so I can share them with the world right here!

I did this last one at home later on.

Do you like very good words?

Newly added: "Good Word of the Day," there in the upper left corner. I'm going to try to change it daily, assuming I remember to do so . . .

Have a good word you'd like to suggest? E-mail it to me at misslynnsings [AT] gmail [DOT] com, and be sure to include your name and city so I can give you credit!

Coloring pages!

Here are some Miss Lynn coloring pages for you to print out and color! Just click on the images below to get the full-sized version, then use your web browser's "Print" function to get your own hard copies (PC users: right click on the picture to print; Mac users . . . ask Justin Long I guess).

After you're done coloring, I would love to see your finished work and post it up here on MissLynn.com . . . and I may even use it as part of the artwork for my album when it comes out! You can e-mail me a photo or scan of your picture at misslynnsings [AT] gmail [dot] com, or if you'd like to send me your actual drawing in the regular mail, send me an e-mail and I will let you know where to mail it.

Thanks and happy coloring!

Fresh from the studio . . . Miss Lynn songs-in-progress!

I thought I could post audio clips directly here, but apparently I can't. Which has forced me to resort to putting up my Miss Lynn MySpace page in order to share audio clips of what Dave and I have been working on . . . which is kind of sad, 'cause MySpace is kind of a mess. But it is free and the music player seems to work, so I guess I shouldn't complain too much.

There are rough cuts of two songs up right now, "Good Words" and "Clap My Feet." Please let us know what you think!

Got tattoos?

If your answer is, "No, but I wish I did!" make sure you come on out to the Edmondson Pike Library this coming Saturday! Have your face rocked off and adorn yourself with Miss Lynn-inspired body art, all in one convenient location!

Break out those sunglasses . . .

You might need to protect your eyes from blinding glamor in the following images!

Miss Lynn presents: Life in the Studio

I said something this morning along the lines of, "This place is magical." And I was only partly kidding . . . but you can't necessarily tell that just by looking. Although there is a framed album cover of "Sgt. Pepper" on the wall! And TWO big computer screens.

The rest of the magic happens across the hall . . . in what used to be a bathroom. The upturned mattress serves to absorb sound and prevent echo. The flowers don't serve any acoustic purpose, as far as I know (but I'm still learning.)

This is what I see while I'm singing. The big round thing is a pop filter. That's to keeP my "P's" from exPloding PeoPle's iPods.

Dave, hard at work. The different squiggly areas on the left monitor are the guitar and vocal tracks (yellow=guitar; red=lead vocal). Today we recorded a bunch of background vocals (aka BGV's), which are in blue!

Much more work to come next week, and I am very excited! Check back for updates as things progress on the untitled Miss Lynn music project.

Upcoming Miss Lynn programs

Jonesing to sing along with Miss Lynn in person? Avail yourself of these opportunities (and don't forget, doughnuts are always appreciated.)

Tuesday, September 30, 10 a.m. - Edmondson Pike Library, Nashville, TN

E-mail Miss Lynn at misslynnsings [AT] gmail [DOT] com to schedule a program with her!

And sign up for the Miss Lynn mailing list (that blue box over to the left) to find out when Miss Lynn will be rocking more faces off!

Snow? NO!!!

I'm supposed to be having a music program at the Edmondson Pike Library tomorrow, but the National Weather Service has us under a Winter Storm Warning from 6 pm this evening until noon tomorrow. Which includes the 10:30-11:30 time frame of the program.

AAAAAAARGH!

Oh, well--as I was saying to Ann Marie and Ayden about an hour ago--the weather is just one on the long list of things I do not control.

(Mostly, this is just a test post for the Miss Lynn website. How does it look?)
